The icons above allow navigation when you find yourself in a photo collection: the left and right arrows take you sideways through individual images depending on which way you want. The patchwork of boxes in the middle allow you to go back up one level to the photo thumbnails array which you clicked on to get to a larger view of a single image.
The display case is about 5 inches thick due to the linen cloth used at the time. This thickness is about twice the thickness of such cases sold for the synthetic fabrics used in many of today’s flags.
