Scott, Tish - her Higdon great-grandparent’s headstone

Pictured below, located in Wheatland, OK, is the headstone of Tish Scott’s great grandparents. Wheatland is where her Mom Nancy Alice Snow grew up. Her Grandma Ines E  Higdon Snow and Grandpa Burl Levi Snow are also buried there. Tish’s great-grandparents were Ishmael Higdon (b. 12 Dec 1873, d. 7 Sep 1959) and Mary Alice Higdon (b. 7 Dec 1880, d. 15 Dec 1967). Mary Alice and Ishmael were from Oklahoma. Ishmael Higdon was Ines’ grandfather.

In her ancestor research so far, Tish has collected the most information on one of her uncles (also a Higdon descendant): Stewart Keith Snow died August 15, 2007, at age 66. He was born August 25, 1940 in Oklahoma City to Ines Higdon Snow and Burl Levi Snow. Keith grew up in Wheatland, Oklahoma and attended the Wheatland and Mustang Schools. He worked in commercial construction most of his life, supervising many major projects in Oklahoma and other states. Keith was a Methodist, 32nd Degree Mason and an active Shriner for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Andy Snow and sister Carolyn Martin. Keith is survived by his son Randy Snow and wife Sharon of Bethany, son Chris Snow and wife Jeannie of Minco, grandsons Sage Snow and Zak Chilton, granddaughters McKenzie and Riley Chilton, brother Gerald Snow of Edmond, sisters Elnora Welch of Bethany and Nancy James of Tulsa and many nieces and nephews.

The image above shows the headstone of Ishmael Higdon and Mary Alice West. Below is a genealogical listing of Tish’s ancestors going back nine generations. Ishmael and Mary Alice Higdon are Generation 7. Tish Scott (maiden name: Tish Michelle James) is Generation 9.
