Mary Ann was the HFA newsletter editor from 1997-1998. She passed away on May 10, 2001, after a long struggle with A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's disease). She was diagnosed in 1998 with this disease, and for the last year and a half she could not speak and was on a respirator full time. She will be mentioned on the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon in 2002 as this is one of the diseases that the Muscular Dystrophy Association helps with. You can read more about Mary Ann in her obituary.
