Minutes of the 1987 HFA Business Meeting
October 10, 1987
Salt Lake City, Utah
On Saturday, Oct. 10, 1987, 9:30 a.m. the general business meeting was called to order by President Opal Willis.
Prayer given by Dain Higdon.
Salute given to the United States of America Flag. Memorial conducted to respect those who died this year. Members introduced.
Report of Nominating Committee read and moved accepted as read.
Letter from Nan Harrison, newly elected president, read by Opal Willis. Nan Harrison suggested meeting at Rough River State Park in the vicinity of Owensboro, Kentucky for 1988.
Treasurer’s report: Over $6,000.00 in the bank. Attention called to the Higdon Association History book.
Bill Higdon suggested meeting in Florida for 1989. Those present agreed.
Special recognition and gifts presented to Jo Ann Smith and Frank Higdon.
Special thanks given to President Opal Willis and her husband Clarence. A standing ovation followed.
Saturday evening, a delicious banquet with tables beautifully decorated for the 6:30 p.m. meeting. Installation of new officers conducted at this time by Charles E. Higdon.
Following this, professional entertainment by Lee Fugal was thoroughly enjoyed by those present.
Sunday morning, we had the privilege of attending the Mormon Temple and listening to the famous Tabernacle choir and organ.
The Lord Mayor of London and his group were recognized; also the Higdon Family Association was recognized.
And then, pick-up and checkout and bid farewell until 1988.
