2001-2002 HFA President Paul Brown

Paul E. Brown is the son of the late Paul Brown and Gladys Higdon Brown of Oklahoma City. His great grandfather was Lawson Mack Gaines Higdon of Tennessee. Paul is married to Connie Campbell Brown. He is a 1961 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a BS in Business Administration. Paul recently retired from CONOCO after 34 years of service. He retired as Eastern Regional Manager for Transportation, Terminals, and Pipelines. Since retiring he has worked on a few temporary projects for CONOCO in Southeast Asia and Europe. Paul and Connie have lived from Atlanta to Spokane and Madison to Houston while he was with CONOCO.

Paul and Connie now live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their daughter Teresa Brown Smith and two grandchildren, Troy and Kyndall live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Teresa is a teacher. Paul and Connie's son Kevin has worked for CONOCO for 10 years and currently lives in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Teresa and Kevin are both graduates of Oklahoma State University.

Paul loves genealogy and credits Nina Ruth Higdon Vaughn and David Jones with starting his genealogy research. His first research was of course his Higdon's. He is in his 14th year of genealogy. Paul and Connie lived in Salt Lake for six months and have traveled there several times doing research. He has found Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory very challenging.
