In 1937, Linnie Jane Higdon Hodges applied to membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. At this time she was living with her husband in Iloilo City, Iloilo Province, Panay Island, The Philippine Islands, near the center of the country (see map below), where they both were running several businesses.
