Charles A. (Chuck) Higdon

Introducing 2015-16 HFA President Charles A “Chuck” Higdon, of Toms River, New Jersey: He is the first son of Harry Allen Higdon, Jr. and Helen Francis Bowen. Chuck’s paternal grandfather was Harry Allen Higdon, Sr., the second son of George Washington Higdon and Alice Ireland. George was the last son of James Blackburn Higdon and Gracie Lucinda West of Alabama. 

Chuck’s cousin, Darrin Higdon, was a past president of the association and one of the founding members of the Higdon Family Association. Darrin hosted the 1982 meeting in Huntsville, Alabama. Chuck attended his first meeting in 1980 at Knoxville, Tennessee. 

Born in New Jersey, Chuck grew up in Denville, at Cedar Lake, which is one of Denville’s many lake communities. He studied Electrical Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology, but ended up in Production and Inventory Control positions in several manufacturing companies. He ended his business career as the Purchasing Director at Datacolor, a global leader in color management solutions and color communication technology. 

Now busy with his retirement activities, he pursues genealogy, model railroading and travel. Chuck is looking forward to hosting the 2016 Higdon Family Association meeting in New Jersey and welcomes all current and new members to attend.
