This Higdon gristmill was located on what is now Ellijay Road in Macon County, North Carolina. Check Higdon gristmill in the Photo Gallery for a story of interest.

When all the buildings you see in this aerial photograph were moved to this site, a section of the gravel road leading up to the manor house, now the Inn at Brome Howard, was planted with ginkgo trees. That idea turned out so nicely that today the ginkgo trees, somewhat larger in size line the gravel entrance road all the way from the blacktopped Rosecroft Road to the turnaround in front of The Inn.
