Based on the information Linnie Jane Higdon Hodges discovered and documented in her D.A.R. application, she is descended seven generations from John Higdon, b. 1657, who lived in Charles County, Maryland. John seems to be the first Higdon to settle in colonial Maryland and raise a family. A quick search through Ancestry.com revealed the following dates associated with Linnie’s direct descent line.
