Ms. Higdon,
My father Grady Hood served in the Army Combat Engineers in the Pacific and often mentioned a buddy of his by the name of William Higdon of Blue Ridge GA.
He mentioned to my father that if he didn't have a good home to go back to after the war or if William Higdon was killed in the war that his family would be glad to accept him in Blue Ridge GA. I guess that they were good drinking buddies and friends.
Anyway my father passed away in 2007, neither being able to find Mr. William Higdon? Do you know of anyone that may have been named William Higdon that served in WWII approx. 1944-1945-1946?
Probably was part of the occupation of Japan after surrender.

Janice
An update on William Higdon: My father was friends with - according to one story when my father left Japan - Mr. Higdon when he was in the military confinement, for having wrecked a weapons carrier on a trip into town without permission? At that time under occupation laws he was probably confined for a very short time. Thanks for any help on the matter.
