Barbara Nave
Barbara Hazel Nave, 76, of Kingsport, passed away Feb. 23, 2006. Barbara was born in London, England. Before meeting her husband Joe Nave and moving to the United States in 1956, Barbara was a professional dancer in England. She later became a citizen of the United States and worked for Hollaway School of Dance for 14 years as a dance instructor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe O. Nave, DDS, and parents, Cecil William and Mabel Margaret Fox.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane Carr and husband Darrell, Jenny Rosser and husband Tom; one grandson, Joe Evans Carr; two sisters, Margaret Smith and husband Don of England, and Yvonne Dawson and husband Peter of England.
Joe and Barbara attended many of the Higdon Family Association meetings in the earlier years. Joe was the son of Gertrude Higdon Nave, wife of Charles Nave. Gertrude's father was William Thomas Higdon of Fannin County, Georgia.
