This Higdon gristmill was located on what is now Ellijay Road in Macon County, North Carolina. Check Higdon gristmill in the Photo Gallery for a story of interest.

The patchwork of boxes in the middle allow you to go back up one level to the photo thumbnails array which you clicked on to get to a larger view of a single image.
We then went to watch and hear about making duck decoys. In this photo, we see that in this area of the world, the decoys are hollow inside. They do put some lead shot inside and they can rattle then.
Here we see a finished Mallard duck decoy. On the work bench are two unfinished ducks, on the right a finished decoy that won some ribbons in a contest.
