Ronnie Higdon’s brother Denton of North Carolina, who shares this newspaper clipping with us, says, “Check out the name of the tall one … that's my brother. When he finished growing I believe he was 6 feet 7 inches."
The caption for the photograph, taken around 1957 or 1958, reads:

Other Higdon relatives in the above photograph include the Corbins and Coach Carpenter, who is the father of the State Representative for Western North Carolina, Bob Carpenter.
