In a note accompanying this image, Charles A. “Chuck” Higdon writes, “I have attached some photos I received from a cousin I have met on Ancestry.com through their DNA matching program. Ronnie Smothers said we could add these to the Higdon website, as there are some Higdons in them. Benton and Carroll counties Tennessee are next to each other just east of Chattanooga, TN. I have not placed any of the students yet, but if I do I will advise. Someone may recognize them.”
In this group photo of students with their teacher at New Friendship School, captured in about 1933, there are several Higdons indicated: Milbern Higdon, Leanna Higdon, Lorene Higdon, Willis Higdon, Dorothy Higdon, Onellia Higdon, Inus Higdon, James Higdon Onas Higdon, and Edward Higdon.
