Denton and Myra Higdon celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on April 8, 2002. They spent the first two years of marriage in Anchorage, Alaska, before moving back to Franklin, NC. The couple has two sons, Travis and Todd Higdon and two grandchildren.
Denton is a descendant of Leonard Higdon and Eve Hoffman. He is the son of Sam and Stella Higdon. The photograph of Myra and Denton was taken in 1972.
