Philip Higdon, husband of Nancy, and father of John, lived for 47 more years after his first wife, Nancy died. He remarried twice, and continued to live in the Bardstown, KY area. By1873, Philip and his third wife, America, moved to Carmi, White County, IL. She died in 1880 and is buried in Carmi, White County, IL. Sometime after the death of America, Philip moved back to live with his son, Phillip Jefferson Higdon in Jeffersonville, Clark County, IN, just across the Ohio river from Louisville, KY. Philip is buried Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Clark County, IN, as shown in the photos above.
