Side Trip - The Old Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Canal at Hancock, MD, Running Parallel to the Old National Pike

A look upstream in the old Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Canal at Hancock, MD, about 30 feet north from the now dry canal channel, and about 30 feet south from Hancock’s Main Street. The building of the C&O canal reached Hancock in 1839, about 15 years after the migration of Maryland Catholics, including Higdons, to Kentucke ceased.
